The Flamingo Gardens’ botanical garden is situated on a quiet street in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It is 17 kilometers west of downtown Fort Lauderdale.

The entrance to this tropical paradise is not as impressive as guests have reported. However, once you have the gateways, you will be taken into a stunning tropical oasis of approximately 60 acres. It is home to roaming peacocks and native Florida wildlife.

Flamingo Gardens is a non-profit organization whose purpose it is to save endangered and injured animals and educate the public about South Florida’s history.

Sea otters, Florida-refurbished panthers and a rescued black bear (named Josh), along with 250 species of birds, are some of the animals that live on the site. The sanctuary’s name is Caribbean Flamingos.

Recent visitors loved the tram ride through the 200-year-old oak trees, tropical forest, and tropical rainforest. This tour gave a good overview of the park. The tram tour was available during recent visits.
The journey takes 25 minutes and is free. It runs between 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. each 30 minutes.

During your visit, you can also visit Wray Home Museum.

The restored house was built in 1933 and is one of the oldest homes in Broward County.

It shows Southern Flemingo Gardens, then Flamingo Groves, in 1927 as a citrus garden. It also features the family portrait of Floyd and Jane Wray.

The Wray Museum is open daily from 10am to 4:30pm. Your Flamingo Gardens ticket also includes admission.

Flamingo Cafe offers sandwiches, snacks and hotdogs, as well as delicious food.

If you are looking for burgers or pulled pork sandwiches, then Garden Grill and Big Orange have the trucks.

However, many travelers thought that the cafe was too expensive and that food trucks were not worth it.

You can have food at the picnic tables outside, but there is no outside food allowed in the park.

Flamingo Gardens is open seven days a semaine from 9:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Parking spaces are free and open on Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Acceptance rates range from $12.95 for children aged 3-11 years to $19.95 for visitors 12 years and older.

Children 2 years and under are admitted free of charge. Students, seniors, military personnel, and students at universities receive 20% off their ID.

Flamingo Gardens suggests that you arrange transport via a listed taxi/shuttle if your preference is not to drive.
